Matt Jacobs is an award-winning former federal prosecutor, distinguished trial lawyer, and seasoned appellate advocate.
His practice focuses on criminal defense, complex civil litigation, government investigations, and appellate advocacy.
From 2014 to 2021, Matt served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York and the Central District of California. In that role, Matt prosecuted al-Qaeda terrorists, mafia bosses, and child sex traffickers, among many others – and never lost a trial. Matt also led numerous grand jury investigations related to bank fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, health care fraud, and other white collar matters. For his success in the courtroom, Matt was named “Prosecutor of the Year” and received the prestigious “True American Hero” award.
Before serving as a federal prosecutor, Matt specialized in complex commercial litigation and white collar defense at Davis Polk & Wardwell, one of the nation’s top law firms. At Davis Polk, Matt represented corporate and individual clients in a wide range of civil matters, grand jury investigations, and regulatory enforcement actions.
In addition to his experience as a federal prosecutor and white collar defense attorney, Matt served from 2011 to 2012 as a law clerk to the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford, United States District Judge for the Central District of California. In 2022, Matt was a candidate for United States Congress in California’s 26th Congressional District.
